CK Hoffler Announces Creation of the Willie Gary Fellowship Honoring the achievement of the legendary trial attorney at the Gate City Bar Judicial Section Awards Dinner
Atlanta, GA (January 7, 2019). In collaboration with the Gate City Bar Association- Judicial Section Chair, The Honorable Ronald B. Ramsey, Sr.; Attorney CK Hoffler announced the creation of a “Fast Track” fellowship in honor of her mentor, the legendary Willie Gary of Stuart Florida. Hoffler worked with Gary and his commercial and international litigation department for over 13 years. Gary and Hoffler have successfully litigated numerous large verdict cases in The State of Georgia and nationally. “Willie Gary is the most extraordinarily talented trial lawyer. I had the distinct honor of trying so many life-defining cases with him and learned so much about trial work and passion. He and his wife Gloria Gary are also caring philanthropists. Every year they give to children and young adults in need of support, scholarships, training and gifts through the Gary Foundation. So, it was only fitting for me to start this fellowship in his honor when I opened my new office in Buckhead.” Hoffler said.
For the 5th consecutive year, Hoffler has made available over $35,000 in scholarship monies for deserving Atlanta-based minority law students. “It was a tremendous honor for me to partner with the extraordinary Gate City Bar judges here in Atlanta,” said Hoffler. “Initially partnering with the Honorable Kimberly Esmond Adams and the Honorable Myra Dixon, who chaired the 2013 scholarship programming, I humbly accepted the opportunity to work this august organization. In collaboration with the Chick-Fil-A Foundation and various local law firms, we have given out close to $175,000 in scholarships over the past several years.”
Attorney Gary is a graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law. Judge Ramsey also received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from North Carolina Central University. The institution is known for its commitment to the law and training some of today’s top lawyers. As Chairperson of the Judicial Section, Judge Ramsey’s vision to assist fledgling lawyers with the nuts and bolts of trial practice and law office management, led to the historic collaboration between Hoffler and the Judicial Section. “I always wanted to help young lawyers and students to get the best training possible. Willie Gary was legendary even during my undergraduate years and his accomplishments and stellar reputation as a trial lawyer over the years has left an indelible mark on me. So, this collaboration with one of his stellar proteges, CK Hoffler, is a blessing,” said Ramsey.
Recipients of the Willie Gary Fellowship will be exposed to every aspect of trial work including the operations and leadership of running of a law office. “Through the fellowship, a young lawyer will learn the importance of hard work, trial strategies and other pearls of wisdom—Willie Gary-style.” Hoffler teamed with Gary and represented thousands of clients who had been victims of negligence, discrimination and corporate injustice.
“I am honored to have this fellowship named after me,” said Gary. “CK Hoffler and I have a long-history of trying cases and breaking down barriers in the court room in seeking justice. As my law partner, she was my right-hand person on some of our toughest cases. She is one of the most tenacious and toughest lawyers I know. I look forward to helping some of these deserving recipients of the fellowship in any way that I can.”

STUART, FL – Employees of the Law Offices of Gary, Williams, Parenti, Watson and Gary, P.L.L.C. recently partnered with Gertrude Walden Child Care Center in Stuart, Florida to provide holiday meals to disadvantaged families from the community. This is the 10th consecutive year that the two organizations have joined forces for this worthwhile endeavor. The Gary Law Firm sponsored the cost of the meal as well as assisted the employees from the Gertrude Walden Child Care Center in preparing the delicious, down-home holiday meal complete with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, dressing, dinner rolls, banana pudding and cake! Together, employee volunteers from the law firm and the child care center served the meals in celebration of the holiday season to families from the surrounding communities.Over 25 employees from the Gary Law Office donated their time for this worthwhile endeavor. Volunteers spent the afternoon cooking the food, packaging meals for take-out, replenishing food items, cleaning tables and serving those families who chose to dine-in. Families began to converge at the child care center early that afternoon in anticipation of the holiday feast. A line of people extended beyond the front door of the child care center into the adjacent parking lot. Over 1500 meals were served throughout the course of the afternoon. Nearly half of those meals were distributed during the first 90 minutes.
“My heart is always with the community,” commented Willie Gary. “I commend Gertrude Walden Child Care Center for their commitment to helping those who are less fortunate. Gertrude Walden works tirelessly to feed families in our community and I am just honored to play a small role in helping them to achieve this goal. Through this effort, we were able to provide dinners to families who, in many cases, might not have anything to eat on Christmas Eve or Christmas day. With today’s needs so prevalent and so pronounced, I’m glad we were able to sponsor this very much needed event,” continued Gary.
Known for his philanthropic endeavors, Willie Gary and his wife, Gloria Gary, founded The Gary Foundation, which provides college scholarships to at-risk students who wish to attend college. The Gary’s have pledged millions of dollars to help Historically Black Colleges and Universities – including $10 million to their alma mater Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Attorney Donald Watson of Gary, Williams, Parenti, Watson and Gary P.L.L.C. Law Firm in Stuart, Florida addresses the importance of including uninsured or under-insured motorist coverage.
I heard about Ricky through a friend. When I first got his number, I called right away and he was very helpful the whole time. If I had to give him a rating from 1 to 100, I would give him 100! Rick was very respectful, someone that is easy to talk to and relate to. I didn’t have to call, he always kept me informed and everything was right on. I highly recommend him. I feel grateful.
Everything was handled so well and felt so easy, although I know it’s not an easy process. From the very beginning Ricky gave me everything I needed with regards to insurance information and getting help from a chiropractor. Ricky made it a point to check in on me periodically and keep me posted on the progress of the case. I was very happy with the resolution. When anyone asks me if I know a lawyer I give them Ricky’s name. Thank you so much!
I was referred to Ricky Armand through a mutual acquaintance. I was overly happy with the resolution. Ricky was always easy to reach and he answered all my questions. As far as the case, I feel it was handled very well. I would definitely refer him to someone else, it was high quality work. I can’t think of anything that could have been improved upon. Ricky and everyone at the firm treated me top rate right from the start.
I chose the firm, and to work with Ricky in particular because I wanted someone with integrity, character and a good standing in the community. I wanted to know that I could trust them and believe that they had my best interest at hand. They performed above my expectations in all areas. I felt that their consultations with me went beyond being a client and more like a family member. The communication was frequent, and it was clear to me that they cared about justice and helping me during this very difficult circumstance. I highly recommend Ricky, he did everything possible for my case, and I was very happy with the resolution. Cameron T.
