Trial Attorney Willie Gary and Team Put Town of Palm Beach on Notice of Intent to File Lawsuits on Behalf of Firemen, Police Officers and Others for Town's Freezing of Pension Funds
Stuart, Florida – Trial attorney Willie Gary of the Stuart, Florida-based law firm of Gary, Williams, Parenti, Watson and Gary, P.L., announced today his intent to file multiple lawsuits against the Town of Palm Beach on behalf of firemen, police officers and others who allege that they sustained damages due to the Town’s pension freeze, which commenced on May 1, 2012. According to Gary, Town employees will lose millions of dollars as a result of the pension freeze. The Firm represents a number of the Town’s nearly 250 employees and the numbers are increasing daily.
Furthermore, Gary’s contention is that many employees relied on the promises and representations made by the Town before leaving their existing jobs and in many cases, relocating to Florida. Many of Gary’s clients feel that they are victims of false promises, breach of agreement and detrimental reliance.
Gary is no stranger to seeking justice. Gary and his legal team are known for taking on some of the nation’s most powerful corporate giants, including the funeral industry. In 1995, a jury awarded Gary and his legal team a record-breaking, half-billion dollars against one of the world’s largest funeral chains, The Loewen Group. In addition, Gary is noted for winning a $240 million jury verdict in Orange County against the Walt Disney Corporation for his clients who alleged that Disney stole their idea for a sports theme park. In 2001, a jury awarded Gary a $139.6 million verdict for the Maris Distributing Company against Anheuser Busch.
