Jim Oster was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Miami Beach, Florida. He worked his way through the University of Miami and received a B.A. in Finance in 1974 and his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 1977. Jim became a member of the Alabama Bar in 1977.
Mr. Oster returned to South Florida and served as Executive Director of the Bankruptcy Center, a consumer bankruptcy practice in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. He has an extensive background in the legal arena and he has worked with firms that practice in the areas of civil litigation, bankruptcy and business law. Mr. Oster also briefly practiced subrogation law, insurance defense litigation and foreclosure defense. He joined Gary, Williams, Parenti, Watson and Gary, P.L.L.C. in 2015 as a Litigation Clerk and works primarily on personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and products liability claims.
In his spare time, Mr. Oster enjoys golfing, playing the guitar and listening to blues.
