Trial Attorney Willie Gary Speaks to Members of the Democratic African-American Women’s Caucus (DAAWC) during Their Inaugural Conference

Gary Joins Senator Lena Taylor (WI) and Senator Nina Turner (OH) to Encourage Attendees to Get Involved in the Political Process

Fort Lauderdale, FL – The Democratic African-American Women’s Caucus (DAAWC) recently welcomed Attorney Willie E. Gary along with Senators Lena Taylor (WI) and Nina Turner (OH) as the keynote speakers at the Inaugural Candidacy Training Workshop. The one day conference was held in Fort Lauderdale at the Bahia Mar Hotel. Gary shared words of encouragement with elected officials, prospective candidates, and community and business leaders. The workshop offered a series of lectures and workshops about leadership and political campaign skills.

Throughout the day, attendees were presented with the opportunity to learn the art and science of fundraising and political campaign strategies. The workshop also focused on leadership and professional development, while providing a platform for networking among leaders and hopeful candidates.

The conference culminated with a dinner featuring keynote remarks by Gary, Senator Taylor and Senator Turner. Gary spoke to the caucus members and shared his personal success story to shed light on the fact that there will be definite highs and lows. Gary stated, “I want to applaud the Democratic African American Women’s Caucus for the good that you do individually and collectively. You are in the business of making a difference! You are in a position to bring about positive change!”

Attorney Willie E. Gary is no stranger to seeking justice.   Mr. Gary and his legal team are known for taking on some of the nation’s most powerful corporate giants. In 2014, a jury awarded Gary and his legal team an unprecedented $23.6 billion verdict against RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.  In 1995, a jury awarded Gary and his legal team a record-breaking, half-billion dollars against one of the world’s largest funeral chains, The Loewen Group. In addition, Gary is noted for winning a $240 million jury verdict in Orange County against the Walt Disney Corporation for his clients who alleged that Disney stole their idea for a sports theme park. In 2001, a jury awarded Gary a $139.6 million verdict for the Maris Distributing Company against Anheuser Busch.

Trial Attorney Willie Gary Receives Chairman’s Award from the Katie Hall Educational Foundation

Trial attorney Willie E. Gary was recently recognized by The Katie Hall Educational Foundation, for his public service, and legal and philanthropic accomplishments. Junifer Hall, daughter of the Honorable Katie Hall (Former Congresswoman of Gary, IN) is the founder and CEO of the Katie Hall Educational Foundation, Inc. She and the Board of Directors chose to honor Gary and Mrs. Coretta Scott King (posthumously) and presented him with the Chairman’s award. Other honorees included; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (posthumously), former Senator Edward M. Kennedy (posthumously), and Indiana Supreme Court Associate Justice, Robert D. Rucker.

Gary also served as the keynote speaker for the awards luncheon. He addressed an audience comprised of local lawyers, judges, public officials, students and community leaders. Gary mesmerized the crowd as he shared his personal story of triumph over undefeatable odds.

“It is truly a privilege and an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization,” said Gary. “I am humbled because this occasion celebrates both Congresswoman Hall and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who lived and died to make America a better place, for all of us,” Gary stated.

The purpose of the Katie Hall Educational Foundation is to provide educational scholarships to youth and to continue the legacy of Former Congresswoman, Katie Hall. Much of the event was focused on honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., for his life’s work and tremendous contributions to the civil rights movement. Also recognized, was Senator Edward M. Kennedy, former U.S. Senator for his role as the Chief Senate sponsor of the House of Representatives Bill 3706, commonly known as the King Bill – which Katie Hall co-authored and co-sponsored.

Gary Attended the Special Sunday Evening Service Focused on Rising Above

Raleigh, North Carolina – Attorney Willie E. Gary served as the keynote speaker at a special Sunday church evening service at the Eagle’s Christian Center International Church. The conference entitled “Rising Above,” brought together clergy and local business and community leaders. The purpose of the conference was to motivate attendees to push forward through difficult times. More than a hundred people listened attentively as Gary spoke about the importance of family and the church. Gary encouraged attendees to value their families and to worship together as often as possible.

“I want to applaud the remarkable work of Senior Pastor Harold Council and his wife Deirdre for their vision and foresight in putting together such a meaningful event.”

Senior Pastor, Harold Council and his wife Deidre founded the Eagle’s Christian Center International church in 2002. The congregation abides by the following scripture,

Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

The Law Firm of Gary, Williams, Parenti, Watson & Gary, P.L.L.C. congratulates Amar Williams, who was recently sworn in as a member of the Florida Bar. Amar Williams is the son of Senior Partner Lorenzo Williams and Jovita Williams. As an associate attorney, Amar will be working alongside his father specializing in wrongful death, employment discrimination, products liability and medical malpractice. In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, Amar is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, New York Bar and Washington, D.C. Bar.

Trial attorney Willie E. Gary recently visited the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Williams H. Bowen School of Law to serve as the keynote speaker at the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) Scholarship Alumni Banquet. The theme for the evening was “Moving Forward While Reaching Back: Roots to Wings.” The event raised money for scholarships to benefit the law students and recognized individuals that have exemplified perseverance and dedication to community service.

Gary addressed a lively audience comprised of local lawyers, judges, public officials, law students, university professors and members of the community during the Banquet. Gary encouraged the audience to give back to their community and to help support the educational goals of black law students. Gary also challenged the students to continue the pursuit of academic excellence and to lead by example.

“Lawyers have a tremendous opportunity to bring about positive change in the lives of the underprivileged and downtrodden,” said Gary. “The responsibility to serve as a voice for the voiceless will ultimately rest on your shoulders, young people. You are preparing to embark upon a career that can positively impact and make a change in one’s life – and you shouldn’t take this lightly,” commented Gary.
